Mountain Echoes 2011 -

Mountain Echoes is a unique literary and cultural festival set in the pristine beauty of Bhutan. The festival enjoys the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. Conceptualised by His Excellency Pavan Varma, Indian Ambassador to Bhutan the festival is an initiative by Siyahi to share the many myths, legends and folklore from Bhutan and the Himalayan region of India. The focus of the festival is to explore and celebrate the rich literary culture of both the countries.

Mountain Echoes 2011 will focus on many other themes like the need and importance of preserving languages; oral traditions; the contemporary art of science fiction; story writing; ballads; fantasy fiction, among others.

India-Bhutan Foundation was established by the Royal Government of Bhutan and the Government of India with the objective of enhancing exchange and interaction among the peoples of both countries through activities in the areas of educational, cultural, scientific and technical fields. The Foundation has initiated Mountain Echoes, a literary festival to be held in Bhutan every year as part of its cultural calendar.
